PM Nguyen Tan Dung has decided to establish a National Committee on Information Technology.

He will be Chairman of the Committee and aided by Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam as Vice Chairman.
The committee has permanent members who are the Ministers of Information and Technology, Finance, Planning and Investment and Education and Training.
It functions as a consulting agency for the Government and the PM on making guidelines, strategies and policies to boost the development and application of information technology in State agencies, key sectors and the whole society.
Besides, the committee directs ministries, agencies and localities in developing and applying information technology to accelerate the economic restructure, increase the national competitiveness and accelerate socio-economic development.
