The Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee has issued Plan No. 154/KH-UBND dated March 26, 2026, aimed at improving the province’s Digital Transformation Index (DTI) for the 2026–2030 period. The plan seeks to mobilize the entire political system, enhance the role of leaders, provincial departments, sectors and localities in implementing digital transformation tasks, and drive more decisive and effective implementation.

The plan focuses on enhancing digital governance capacity, digital infrastructure and digital skills among officials, civil servants and residents. In doing so, it is expected to improve the quality of administration, foster the development of the digital economy and digital society, and move toward a modern digital government that better serves both citizens and businesses.

In addition, specific tasks have been assigned to provincial departments, sectors and local authorities to effectively implement Decision No. 405/QD-BKHCN issued in 2025 by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST), which approves a scheme defining the digital transformation index (DTI) for ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government-affiliated bodies, provinces and centrally governed cities, as well as the national level. This serves as a foundation for Dong Nai to improve its DTI ranking in the 2026–2030 period. The plan also aligns with provincial directives in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

Regarding specific targets, Dong Nai aims to improve both its DTI score and ranking, striving to be among the top three provinces and cities nationwide by 2030. To achieve this, the plan outlines key tasks and solutions, including strengthening digital government operations, improving indicators related to digital infrastructure and platforms, digital human resources and cybersecurity, while continuing to build on existing strengths in digital government, digital economy and digital society.

According to the DTI results announced by the MoST in late October 2025, Dong Nai scored 0.7164 points, ranking 15th nationwide in the provincial DTI index. Notably, the province recorded strong performance in several component indices, including digital awareness, digital infrastructure, digital economic activities and digital social activities.
