Promoting technological innovation among enterprises

Dong Nai has many industrial parks and operating enterprises, supported by a large workforce. These are essential foundations for training a digital technology workforce, and for promoting science and technology development, technology transfer, innovation, and digital transformation linked to green growth.

Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of the Center for Science and Technology Market Development Promotion under the Ministry of Science and Technology, noted that Dong Nai has many promising product groups and sectors to strengthen links between technology supply and demand, especially in supporting industries, agro-processing, renewable energy, new materials, and smart logistics. In the near future, the province should focus on building and operating a technology market database, regularly updating and clearly identifying enterprises' technology needs, and compiling, classifying, and introducing technologies ready for transfer from within and outside the province, in line with each sector's characteristics.

Moreover, amid deep integration and rapid advances in science and technology, to enhance competitiveness through technological transformation, enterprises and local authorities need to intensify digital transformation, promote the circular economy, and implement green production and consumption solutions. Many enterprises in the province have paid greater attention to developing green and circular production models to improve competitiveness, concretise carbon-reduction roadmaps, and move towards net-zero targets.

Tran Ngoc Thuong, Director of Eco Polymers Co., Ltd., at Ho Nai Industrial Park (IP) in Ho Nai ward, shared that the company focuses on applying new technologies and practising ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) standards to improve its materials and meet increasingly stringent customer demands. Its factory is applying global recycling standards, with traceability from imported raw materials to finished products, and all generated waste is recycled.

Meanwhile, Deputy General Director Khuat Quang Hung of Nestle Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Tran Bien ward stated that digital transformation and the application of science and technology are crucial to business operations. The company has prioritised implementing digital transformation, thereby forming a sustainable agricultural production chain, enhancing efficiency and product quality, and developing a modern, sustainable production model aimed at net zero.

Notably, one of the nine central science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation challenges proposed by Dong Nai province is applying science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation to transform traditional industrial parks into smart IPs, eco-industrial parks, and industrial parks integrating technology services, innovation, and green logistics across the province.

Focusing on multiple solutions

The rapid development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution requires localities, including Dong Nai, to adopt a range of solutions to develop high-tech models and green growth. At the conference on implementing tasks for Dong Nai’s industry and trade sector in 2026, held in January 2026, Nguyen Tran Quoc Anh, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Import-Export Association, emphasised that digital transformation and green transformation are placing very high requirements on enterprises. Therefore, the province needs to strengthen support for enterprises during these transitions, especially as more than 95% of businesses in the locality are small and medium-sized enterprises with limited capital, human resources, and governance capacity. Appropriate support programmes should be rolled out to help enterprises apply digital technologies in production management, logistics, and import-export activities, access energy-saving and emission-reduction solutions, and meet environmental standards in international markets.

Also at the conference, Member of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Director of Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade Vu Ngoc Long stressed that many industrial parks and industrial clusters have invested in completing technical infrastructure and centralized wastewater treatment systems, gradually meeting the requirements for green and eco-industrial development. One of the sector's key tasks in 2026 is to promote piloting and scaling up eco-industrial cluster models, linking industrial development with environmental protection, efficient resource use, and compliance with green standards in global supply chains. At the same time, the province will focus on developing wholesale markets and modern commercial centers linked to digital transformation and e-commerce, thereby expanding market space for enterprises.

Deputy Director Vo Hoang Khai of the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology said that innovation and digital transformation are increasingly spreading into daily life, production, and business activities. Many enterprises are applying digital technologies and transforming governance, while digital infrastructure systems, high-tech zones, and innovation centers are being planned for development. This endeavor opens up significant opportunities for smart logistics, Industry 4.0, e-commerce, and smart manufacturing. The proactive role of the State and combined efforts of the four key stakeholders (the State, schools, enterprises, and investors) will create strong momentum for Dong Nai to apply science and technology, promote innovation, and advance digital transformation, thereby boosting sustainable economic growth in the new phase.
