Lac Hong University's AI project wins Global Silver Award in UAE

On February 4, information from Lac Hong University (LHU) stated that the artificial intelligence (AI) application project named "Your Voice" by a group of lecturers and students from the university had excellently won the Silver award at the 2026 Global Best M-Gov Award competition.

The award was presented in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), as part of the World Government Summit 2026 organized by the UAE Government.

To achieve this result, the "Your Voice" project, led by lecturer Bui Xuan Canh and a group of students from the Faculty of Information Technology at Lac Hong University, surpassed 5,000 projects from 126 countries and territories worldwide. The Silver Award comes with a prize of 25,000 USD (over 600 million VND). This occasion marks the first time since the award was established in 2014 that a Vietnamese representative has received a top prize in this prestigious competition.

Lecturer Bui Xuan Canh stated: "Your Voice" is an application that converts sign language into speech and text, and vice versa. The application was developed to help hearing-impaired individuals communicate more easily in daily life, particularly when accessing public services and healthcare, and when seeking employment.

The "Your Voice" project was highly commended by the Global Best M-Gov Award Council for its advanced technology, practical applicability, contribution to the goal of a people-centered digital government, and profound humanistic value.

The Global Best M-Gov Award is an annual award organized by the UAE Prime Minister's Office for university students worldwide. It seeks to identify and honor innovative technological solutions that address social challenges and enhance the effectiveness of public services.

Before being honored in the UAE, the "Your Voice" project had an impressive track record including: Global Award at the Intel AI Global Impact Festival 2025 organized by Intel Corporation USA (AI for social good category); First Prize at the VietFuture Awards; Second Prize in the EPICS 7 Engineering for Community competition and was nominated to represent Vietnam in the Cintana Artificial Intelligence Challenge in the US.
