According to the report from the Department of Science and Technology (DoST), in 2025, most of the set targets were met, with 13 out of 22 indicators surpassing their targets, such as: local budget expenditure for science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; the percentage of commune and ward officials and civil servants trained in basic digital skills; administrative procedures received and resolved across administrative boundaries between the central and local levels, and between different levels of government...

2026 is identified as a pivotal year to accelerate the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. This aims for comprehensive digital transformation across all sectors and state agencies in the province. The province has set three key objectives for the year: Refining a unified, secure, and modern digital infrastructure and platform to reach 70%; achieving a training rate of 90% or more for human resources in state agencies and citizens; and achieving a provincial digital transformation index of over 0.8%. Accordingly, the province has set many concrete and important goals to be achieved in infrastructure investment, budget expenditure, and the percentage of the adult population accessing digital services in healthcare, insurance, transportation, and electronic administrative procedures, etc.

At the conference, delegates showed great interest and discussed many opportunities and challenges in implementing digital government, digital society, and digital economy, including: the orientation for implementing the data development strategy in the province; the orientation for developing digital infrastructure and digital economy in industrial parks and economic zones in the province; implementing smart city models; comprehensive digital transformation at the commune level; the Digital literacy for all program, etc.
Delivering his directive speech at the conference, Member of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son highly appreciated the digital transformation results achieved by Dong Nai province. In 2026, the province has set 91 tasks with specific assignments to departments and agencies. Therefore, the provincial leader requested departments and agencies to regularly research and review progress to ensure effective implementation.
Regarding digital society, the province places great emphasis on the Digital literacy for all movement. The provincial leader requested the Department of Science and Technology to coordinate with mass organizations to organize more activities and creative forms to encourage people to actively learn and apply. In this, the role and responsibility of the head and leaders are extremely important.

In 2026, the provincial leader required that what is done must be effective and measurable. Therefore, it is necessary to actively learn from good models and practices from various places for effective implementation. The province aims to make Dong Nai one of the top 5 localities nationwide in terms of science, technology, digital transformation, and innovation development. This is a very high goal, so continuous efforts must be made for the entire upcoming period.
On this occasion, the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee honored 9 individuals and 2 collectives for their outstanding achievements in implementing digital transformation and developing telecommunications infrastructure and 5G mobile information in the province.
