A meeting has been held recently at Cat Tien National Park, Dong Nai province, to review the progress of Green Building Certification in Vietnam, part of the Biodiversity Conservation Component of the Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation Project (VFBC).

The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development, the Worldwide Fund for Nature in Vietnam and the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

The IUCN Green List is a set of global standards for successful conservation. Its participation demonstrates Vietnam's commitment to global environmental sustainability.

Vietnam’s Cat Tien National Park is a conservation area that’s in the final stage of being certified on the Green List. It has conducted biodiversity monitoring since the early 2000s, collecting data on birds, primates, deer, crocodiles, and other major species.

In 2019, Van Long wetland nature reserve in Ninh Binh province received IUCN certification.
