Long Thanh and Nhon Trach recognized as new-style rural areas

(ĐN)- Vice Chairman Nguyen Quoc Hung of Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee on April 5 presided over a meeting to announce the Prime Minister's decision on the recognition of Long Thanh and Nhon Trach as new-style rural areas.

So far, 11 out of 13 communes in Long Thanh and 10 out of 12 communes in Nhon Trach district completed all criteria for new-style rural areas.

In 2011-2015 period, Nhon Trach district mobilized some VND110 billion to develop agriculture, build new rural areas and improve farmers’ living standards.

Meanwhile, Long Thanh district has formed 22 concentrated agricultural production areas with a total area of 6,421 ha. Income per capita of individuals in the locality estimated at VND50.73 million per year in 2015.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman suggested the districts to continue to rally resources to meet criteria on schooling, traffic infrastructure and environment, among others.
