(ĐN)- On August 31, Dong Nai Police Department announced State President’s decision to grant amnesty to 117 prisoners in the province on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of National Day (Sept. 2).

The granting of amnesty to prisoners reflects the clement policy of the Vietnamese Party and State and the humanitarian tradition of the nation, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Police Department Bui Huu Danh said at the event. He added that amnesty is also a way to recognise positive rehabilitation as the result of close coordination between enforcement agencies, families and the whole society.

He also expressed his hope that 117 recipients to continue striving hard and obey laws to reintegrate into the community, becoming useful persons for their families and society.

On this occasion, Dong Nai's Entrepreneurs Fund for Public Security provided preferential loans worth VND20-30 million each to nine released prisoners to help them stabilize their lives.
