
Dong Nai is among five provinces and cities with the highest economic growth in 2014. Accordingly, the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) rose by 11.55% from a year earlier.

It also attracted more than US$1.6 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI), exceeding its yearly target of luring US$900 million. Dong Nai province reported a record export value of more than US$13 billion this year, surpassing the set target by US$500 million and posting a 19 percent year-on-year increase.
2. Dong Nai is leading locality in building new rural area. Presently, the province’s Xuan Loc district and Long Khanh town completed all criteria for new-style rural areas and are expected to become first new rural localities nationwide.
3. Dong Nai’s authorities has made efforts to speed up the search for and collection of fallen soldiers' remains. In September, a mass grave of 36 soldiers was found in Bao Vinh commune, Long Khanh town. Earlier, a collective grave of over 100 martyrs had been discovered in Long Tho commune, Nhon Trach district.
4. Many important traffic projects put into operation, including the first phrase of HCM city-Long Thanh-Dau Giay highway, Hoa An bridge, Vo Nguyen Giap street and flyover at Tan Van intersection, connecting destinations around the region.
5. The multi-billion US dollar Long Thanh Airport project in Dong Nai province was the focus of discussion at the National Assembly in November.
6. Dong Nai’s authorities and people launched various activities towards sea and islands. Particularly, the province mobilized more than VND9 billion to share the difficulties with naval soldiers and people in Hoang Sa and Truong Sa districts as well as fisheries surveillance force and Vietnamese coast guard who are on duty to defend sacred sea and island sovereignty. Dong Nai’s people and labourers were unanimous in strongly protesting the illegal acts of China and resolutely safeguarding the national sacred sea and island sovereignty by peaceful means. Bien Hoa city-based Le Quy Don school’s teaching staff and more than 800 students together shaped Vietnamese map on the football field, affirming the country’s sea and islands sovereignty of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa.
7. Dong Nai’s authorities held a ceremony to unveil Vo Nguyen Giap Street. The naming of the street shows the gratitude of local authorities and people to the beloved general on the occasion of his first death anniversary (October 4).
8. Dong Nai-based Lac Hong University excellently defeated the Japan's defending champion team in the final to triumph at the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2014. This is the university’s first championship at the contest after three times winning second prizes at this contest.
9. Dong Nai Radio and Television Station inaugurated its Technical Center for Radio and Television. This is seen as a big step to mark the development of the station in order to meet the public’s increasing demand.
