Journey toward a modern city

22:20, 28/05/2026

Dong Nai’s elevation to city status, together with the recently launched 500-day-and-night emulation campaign themed “Unity – Discipline – Efficiency – Breakthrough, building Dong Nai into a civilized and modern city,” underscores the determination of the city’s Party organization and authorities to build Dong Nai into not only a locality strong in economic development and national defense and security, rich in cultural identity, and deeply integrated globally, but also a modern urban center.

Reporters from Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television continue gathering opinions and recommendations from different segments of society in support of the city’s development goals.

Ha Thi Chung, Acting Deputy Director of Dong Nai Branch of Kien Long Commercial Joint Stock Bank (KienlongBank):  Opening up new opportunities for digital banking services

Dong Nai is among the country’s most dynamic localities, possessing major advantages in industry, infrastructure, logistics and, notably, Long Thanh International Airport. We believe the city will emerge as a new growth pole of Southern Vietnam for many years to come.

For KienlongBank, choosing Dong Nai City as the location for its headquarters is not merely an expansion of operations, but also a strategic step in its journey toward becoming a next-generation digital bank closely aligned with the locality’s practical development needs.

We believe that once Long Thanh Airport and key infrastructure systems are completed, Dong Nai will enter a period of robust growth in the economy, commerce and digital services. In that context, KienlongBank aspires not only to provide traditional financial services but also to become a digital financial connectivity partner for local residents and businesses.

Lawyer Phan Manh Hoang, Dong Nai City Bar Association: Spreading humanitarian values through legal aid

Legal aid is a deeply humanitarian policy of the Party and the State aimed at ensuring access to justice for all citizens, particularly vulnerable groups in society.

Building on achievements already made, we hope the city will continue paying greater attention to and investing further in legal aid work. In particular, efforts to raise public awareness of free legal aid and eligible beneficiaries under the law should be stepped up.

At the same time, grassroots socio-political organizations should play a stronger role in disseminating information, supporting citizens and helping them access legal aid services. In doing so, people, especially vulnerable groups, can have their lawful rights and interests protected in a timely and effective manner.

Nguyen Minh Tan, Party Cell Secretary and Head of Nui Do Residential Quarter, Xuan Lap ward: Promoting sports movements for a healthier community

Over the years, alongside socio-economic development and national defense-security tasks, Dong Nai’s leaders at all levels have consistently paid attention to directing and effectively organizing sports and physical training activities. As a result, sports and physical training activities across Dong Nai in general and Xuan Lap ward in particular have become increasingly vibrant.

We hope local authorities will further support public sports and fitness activities. More sports programs and tournaments should be organized to enable localities to exchange experiences, learn from one another and create healthy, meaningful playgrounds for residents.

Special attention should also be paid to sports movements among officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in order to improve health, enrich spiritual life and foster a dynamic, positive working environment. Such efforts would help spread the spirit of physical training throughout the community, contributing to building Dong Nai into an increasingly civilized, modern and sustainably developed city.

Tran Thi Thu, resident of Dau Giay ward: Leveraging transport advantages to help Dau Giay ward break through

With its location at the junction of several major expressways and national highways, Dau Giay ward is set to become a major transport and logistics hub of Dong Nai City.

Going forward, Dau Giay should receive more synchronized investment in infrastructure, logistics centers, warehousing and transport services. As expressways, Long Thanh Airport and surrounding infrastructure projects are completed, the ward will likely attract additional investment from businesses.

I hope that while Dau Giay in particular and Dong Nai in general continue developing, they will still preserve a clean, safe and peaceful living environment. Investment attraction should go hand in hand with environmental protection, stable job creation for local workers and improvements in people’s living standards.

Nguyen Van Nhu Son, service business owner in Tran Bien ward: Service industries gain new development opportunities

What stands out most in Dong Nai City today is better-developed infrastructure, improved transport connectivity and an increasingly professional business environment. I believe more roads will be expanded in the coming years, while commercial areas, service centers and entertainment venues will take shape to attract residents and visitors alike. As the economy grows and more people come to live, work and travel here, service industries will also enjoy broader opportunities for expansion.

Alongside that, I hope authorities will create more favorable conditions for household businesses and small enterprises. Administrative procedures that are streamlined, transparent and efficient would give people greater confidence to invest and expand their business operations over the long term.

Ly Hoang Hoai Anh, resident of Tran Bien ward: Expecting more open public spaces

What many young people and I look forward to most is a breakthrough in investment in cultural facilities and public cultural spaces. To match the stature of a modern city, younger generations need creative spaces, arts venues and modern multi-purpose sports complexes rather than traditional cultural-house models that are gradually becoming outdated.

At the same time, I hope authorities will pay greater attention to ensuring public security and building a safe, civilized living environment. Infrastructure investment should also be accelerated to create a greener, cleaner and more attractive urban landscape.

A future city cannot lack open public spaces that foster strong community connections. I hope Dong Nai will develop intellectually and culturally rich spaces similar to Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, alongside inner-city ecological parks. Such places would not only improve residents’ quality of life but also serve as cultural landmarks reflecting the stature of a modern and livable city.
