According to Nguyen Tran Phuong Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairwoman of the Provincial Students’ Association, and Chairwoman of the Provincial Young Pioneers’ Council, the mission of Youth Union members and young people in the new context goes beyond fulfilling individual responsibilities. They are expected to take the lead in learning, mastering knowledge and technology, and embracing new and challenging tasks.

Youth union members and young people well aware of their mission

According to Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Tran Phuong Ha, being well aware of one's own role and mission in the new context is not only meaningful for each union member and young person but also contributes to determining the future development of the locality and the country. Recognizing that, in recent times, Youth Union chapters at all levels have focused on implementing many propaganda, education, and orientation activities for youth union members, teenagers and children regarding their role and mission towards the nation.

Besides the educational work and orientation of the Youth Union organization, each Youth Union member and young person needs to proactively self-study, improve themselves, set clear goals, and dare to take action. Only then will they clearly understand their position and role and be ready to contribute to society.

Specifically, Youth Union chapters at all levels have strengthened the education of revolutionary ideals, ethics, and lifestyles for young people through Youth Union branch meetings, forums, seminars, thematic talks on national historical traditions, the glorious traditions of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and exemplary young people. In addition, back-to-the-roots programs and journeys that take youth to historical sites (“red addresses”), and meetings with historical witnesses have also been held to help youth union members, teenagers and children deepen their understanding of the responsibility of the younger generation in continuing traditions and contributing to the country's development.

Along with traditional propaganda methods, Youth Union organizations at all levels have also particularly promoted dissemination on digital platforms and social networks to reach young people in a more approachable and effective way. This aims to spread positive information, orient thinking, and raise awareness among Youth Union members and young people in the new era; and at the same time, enhance the ability to identify and combat false and negative information in cyberspace.

Nguyen Bao Han, a 12th grader from from Class 12A5 at Tri An High School (in Tri An commune, Dong Nai province), shared: "Through propaganda and educational activities about historical traditions; visits and researches at red addresses; and propaganda campaigns in cyberspace by the Youth Union organization, I have come to realize that today's independence and freedom were earned through the blood and sacrifice of heroic martyrs. Our young generation is fortunate to be born and raised in peace and must know how to cherish, preserve, and promote the achievements that previous generations painstakingly built."

In particular, through the widespread implementation of movements such as: Volunteer Youth, Creative Youth, and Vanguard Youth Protecting the Fatherland, Youth Union chapters at all levels have created an environment for Youth Union members and young people to directly participate in activities for the sake of community, promoting a sense of responsibility, pioneering spirit, and creativity among young people... Thereby, Youth Union members, teenagers and children are increasingly aware of their role and responsibilities in the new era, constantly striving to learn, train, be creative, and contribute.

Ready to venture and contribute

During talks with officials and Youth Union members and young people about the mission of youth in the new era - an era of national advancement, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Minh Kien always emphasized that the mission of today's young generation should go beyond mere aspirations and be concretized through action.

Reality has proven that, in recent times, Youth Union members and young people in the province have actively studied, engaged in creative work, and especially always demonstrated a spirit of dedication and contribution to the community. This was most evident in the recent election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. According to statistics from the Provincial Youth Union, on the election day alone, the entire province had over 260 youth teams with thousands of Youth Union members and young people participating in supporting voters at polling stations in communes and wards. These teams assisted and guided voters through the voting process; answered basic questions from voters; supported elderly voters, people with disabilities, and those with mobility difficulties in reaching polling stations. They also helped handle arising situations during the election organization process; and assisted with other assigned tasks.

Before the election day, Youth Union members and young people voluntarily participated in supporting election preparation work in localities through tasks such as: assisting with election propaganda and mobilization; sorting voter cards and ballots; entering candidate and voter information; cleaning up, assisting with arranging, and decorating polling stations.

As both a member of the Commune Youth Union Executive Committee and Deputy Head of Hamlet cum Secretary of Tan Phu 1 Hamlet Youth Union (Tan Phu commune), Nguyen Van Giau was quite busy in the days leading up to the election. Sharing about his work before the election, Giau said that before the election, he helped hang banners and posters to promote the election; twice a day, he used a mobile loudspeaker to spread election propaganda on roads and in public areas. At the same time, he coordinated the distribution of voter cards; cleaned up around the polling station. "Although the workload was heavier than usual, I didn't feel tired, on the contrary, I felt excited because the success of the election included a part of my own contribution," Giau confided.

Apart from the recent election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the dedication and contributions of the province's youth can also be seen in other fields, especially in implementing digital transformation. With their technological agility, innovative thinking, and high adaptability, Youth Union members and young people are a pioneering force in accessing and applying digital platforms; creating technological solutions to serve life and economic development. Many young people also actively participate in innovative startups, developing applications, and building digital ecosystems, contributing to improving management efficiency, production, and community connection. They also play an important role in spreading and enhancing digital knowledge and skills for people by helping them install digital applications, use digital platforms, access online public administrative services, and the utilities of digital government. These efforts help contribute to narrowing the digital divide; while affirming the pioneering role of youth in the national digital transformation process, bringing technology closer to the people.

It can be seen that when young people clearly understand their role and mission, they will constantly act and become a pioneering force contributing to the strong advancement of the country. Therefore, propaganda, education, ideological orientation, along with efforts to foster civic responsibility, and create an environment for young people to train and grow should be given due attention.
