Dong Nai: 18 candidates elected as deputies to 16th National Assembly

According to Resolution No. 232/NQ-HDBCQG of the National Election Council on the election results and the list of elected deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA), which was just announced on the afternoon of March 21, Dong Nai province has 18 candidates elected as deputies to the 16th NA. Among the elected deputies, eight were centrally nominated candidates standing in local constituencies.

"With all 18 deputies elected, it shows that the election was conducted fully according to the allocated number of deputies. Previously, Dong Nai established 6 electoral units for NA deputies, with each unit electing 3 deputies from a total of 30 candidates. Together with the whole country, the province successfully organized the election with a voter turnout rate of 99.62%, demonstrating the high trust and consensus of the people.

Nationwide, according to the quick report on the election results from the National Election Council, a total of 500 NA deputies were elected from 863 candidates. Of these, 214 deputies were nominated by Central agencies and organizations.

Notably, the proportion of elected NA deputies expected to serve full-time  reached a record high of 40%, marking a 1.4% increase compared to the 15th NA term. For the first time in 16 terms, centrally nominated candidates standing in local constituencies achieved an exceptionally high success rate, with 214 out of 216 elected. Additionally, all candidates expected to serve as full-time deputies were elected.

 Previously, the whole country recorded nearly 76.2 million voters participating in the election, reaching 99.7%; notably, no electoral units had to hold a re-vote.
