For Dong Nai province, the Lunar New Year (Tet) of the Horse 2026  represents a critical turning point that requires the entire political system to accelerate immediately with a proactive and determined mindset, establishing the groundwork for the years ahead.

Right after Tet holiday, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Vu Hong Van directed authorities at all levels – from the provincial level down to the grassroots – to promptly shift into active working mode with urgency, substance, and effectiveness.

A massive workload

In 2026, Dong Nai aims to achieve its target of GRDP growth of 10% or higher and state budget revenue 10% higher than in 2025. Beyond ongoing infrastructure projects, the province is determined to accelerate key transport projects, new-generation industrial parks, and modern urban areas aligned with its development strategy for the new phase. This enormous workload leaves no room for stagnation or disengagement from any individual or unit.

In a significant sector of socio-economic development, the province is focusing full resources on completing strategic infrastructure connected to Long Thanh International Airport, including the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway, Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City, and the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, all under intense pressure to be completed early. At the same time, procedures for the construction of a metro line connecting Dong Nai with Ho Chi Minh City and Long Thanh International Airport are being accelerated.

“Officials must be regularly and continuously evaluated based on the effectiveness of their assigned tasks. Those who show signs of avoidance, passivity, or failure to fulfill their duties must be replaced promptly. No individual’s weakness or stagnation can be allowed to obstruct the system or delay the province’s overall progress.”

Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Kim Long noted that in 2025 the Provincial Party Standing Committee worked directly with Ho Chi Minh City, resulting in the groundbreaking of three strategic bridges, namely Long Hung, Cat Lai, and Phu My 2. Entering 2026, the province will decisively accelerate construction, prioritizing land clearance and urging contractors to meet progress and quality requirements. These projects are strategic for the development of Long Thanh and Nhon Trach areas in the near future.

Beyond the southern region, which already has development advantages, the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee has directed departments and localities to accelerate northern projects such as the Gia Nghia – Chon Thanh Expressway, Ho Chi Minh City – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh Expressway, Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, and Ma Da Bridge. Meanwhile, the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway, launched in late 2025, is undergoing site clearance.

Comprehensive solutions with emphasis placed on efficiency

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Kim Long emphasized that following the direction of the Standing Board of Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Committee requires departments and agencies to intensify investment attraction through comprehensive and substantive administrative reform. Units must boldly eliminate unnecessary procedures and fully leverage digital transformation to build a transparent, professional business environment that maximizes convenience for citizens and enterprises. In addition to enabling the development, the province will firmly enhance the direction of inspection, examination, and supervision of official duties, outlining the roles of heads and individuals in the event of infractions, harassment, or stagnation.

According to Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ho Van Ha, the province will continue unlocking land resources, policy mechanisms, and administrative procedures to accelerate the of infrastructure investment and development.  Dong Nai will directly urge strategic investors to complete large‑scale industrial parks and internationally oriented urban areas in Long Thanh and Nhon Trach, preparing to welcome high‑quality foreign investment. At key transport construction sites, urgent site clearance is given the top priority, with contractors required to maintain a “three shifts, four crews” pace to meet deadlines.

Recognizing the challenges ahead in 2026, on the first working day after Tet, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council Ton Ngoc Hanh requested that the entire political system accelerate immediately rather than merely “warming up.” The guiding principle for action is to ensure “six clarities”: clear personnel, clear tasks, clear timelines, clear accountability, clear outcomes, and clear authority. Monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of officials must be strengthened regularly and substantively, without leniency or avoidance.

In the new context where effectiveness speaks louder than anything else, the spirit of daring to think big, act boldly, and take responsibility for the province’s common development must be encouraged and protected. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Ut emphasized that officials are the “core of all cores,” requiring monthly and quarterly performance‑based evaluations, rather than waiting until year‑end. The entire system must focus its best on removing obstacles in key transport infrastructure projects and proactively propose bold solutions to create breakthrough development for the locality.
