Authorities from the provincial level to local administrations have been carrying out election preparations in line with regulations and timelines, with the aim of ensuring a democratic, lawful and secure vote.
Preparations on track
Once directives were issued by central and provincial authorities, communes and wards moved to put in place detailed, locally tailored plans. They established and consolidated steering committees, election committees, and organizations responsible for election-related work at the grassroots level, with task asisgnments clearly delineated in terms of personnel, duties, and responsibilities, to ensure consistent leadership and smooth implementation.
According to Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Trang Bom commune People’s Council, the commune Election Committee was promptly consolidated and has operated in accordance with statutory timelines. Coordination among the Election Committee, Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Standing Commitee of the commune has been carried out smoothly, meeting operational requirements. All required directives within the committee’s mandate have been issued, alongside enhanced public information efforts and contingency planning to maintain public order, ensuring the election proceeds safely and without disruption.
Local authorities keep a close watch on key milestones and priority tasks, while strengthening coordination among relevant agencies to ensure the election is conducted in line with procedures, on schedule and to a consistent standard. The Election Law, along with resolutions and guidance issued by central and provincial authorities, is strictly observed, with safeguards in place to prevent procedural errors throughout the process. The consultative process is conducted transparently and in accordance with regulations, with the VFF playing a central role in ensuring candidate quality, democratic integrity and a balanced representation in terms of structure and composition. Public communication is stepped up, alongside proactive measures to maintain security and public order during peak phases of the election.

In Binh Phuoc ward, election preparations are well advanced and proceeding in line with regulations. All statutory milestones have been completed on schedule, with the establishment of election bodies, the delivery of staff training and the formation of 37 polling teams across voting locations.
Localities have also conducted the consultative nomination process for National Assembly and People’s Council candidates in accordance with legal procedures, ensuring transparent selection and balanced representation.
A key development has been the successful completion of first-round consultative conferences in several localities. In Tan Phu commune, women make up 38.29% of proposed candidates, with younger candidates at 23.4% and non-Party members at 10.64%, while voter lists are being carefully reviewed and updated to ensure broad and transparent participation.
Public outreach intensified to build social consensus
Local authorities have prioritised public information efforts, broadening outreach on the election’s purpose and significance and on citizens’ rights and responsibilities through multiple communication channels.
Nguyen Kim Phuoc, Party Secretary and Chair of the People’s Council in Binh Minh commune, said the area has a predominantly religious population, with more than 85% of religious followers, most of them Catholic. Local authorities have engaged priests, religious figures and community leaders to encourage voter participation, integrating election outreach into regular meetings and neighbourhood gatherings. The approach aims to ensure voters understand their rights and responsibilities and participate in the election in accordance with the rules. A number of religious leaders have voiced support for the effort and are working with local authorities to mobilise parishioners to take part in the vote.
In other localities, election outreach is being delivered via grassroots broadcasting networks, public signage and digital platforms, reinforcing public awareness and confidence.
Vu Van Muoi, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council in Dong Xoai ward, said authorities are maintaining a strong focus on voter outreach while ensuring election procedures strictly follow guidance issued by higher authorities.
The VFF Committee of Dong Nai has sent delegations to conduct inspections and assess preparations for upcoming elections to the National Assembly and local People’s Councils across the province. Inspectors reported that local authorities have shown a high level of initiative and discipline in leading and organizing the process, in line with directives from central and provincial authorities and in compliance with the law. As planned, in the first phase, inspections will be carried out in 25 communes and wards.
Careful and disciplined preparations, coupled with coordination across the political system and public participation, have kept election preparations in the province on track, paving the way for a smooth and successful vote.
