As part of his working trip to Southern provinces, General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Member of the Central Military Commission’s Standing Committee, and Chairman of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army, led a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense (MoND) to pay a working visit to Dong Nai on November 8.

Joining the delegation were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Member of the PCC, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, and representatives of various departments under the MoND.

The delegation was received by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Head of the Dong Nai National Assembly Delegation Vu Hong Van; Alternate Member of the PCC, Standing Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council Ton Ngoc Hanh; Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Tan Duc; Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Head of the Provincial Party Organization Commission Thai Bao; Colonel Vo Thanh Danh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Colonel Bui Dang Ninh, Member of the PPC and Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command; and other delegates.

The delegation paid homage to the late President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, and commanders of the Liberation Army of South Vietnam at Tan An commune; and at the Temples of President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, and Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Vo Thi Sau within the premises of the Dong Nai PPC, as well as at the Memorial House for Fallen Soldiers at the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command.

At these sites, General Nguyen Trong Nghia and the working delegation expressed profound gratitude and respect for the immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, the elder brother of the Vietnam People’s Army, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Vo Thi Sau, and the fallen soldiers who devoted and sacrificed their lives for the independence of the nation and the freedom and happiness of the people.

During the working session with the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, after hearing reports on military and defense activities in 2025, particularly after the implementation of the two-tier local government model, General Nguyen Trong Nghia commended the remarkable achievements of the Dong Nai armed forces. These include effective advisory work for the Provincial Party Committee and authorities in fulfilling military and defense missions, successful organization of defensive rehearsals under Military Region 7’s direction, strict maintenance of combat readiness, solid performance in training, political education, discipline building, troop welfare, and policies for military families.

General Nguyen Trong Nghia requested the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command to thoroughly grasp and implement the resolutions and directives of the Party, the Central Military Commission, the MoND, Military Region 7, and the Dong Nai PPC; to proactively monitor the situation and avoid passivity or surprises; to strengthen mass mobilization work, contributing to building a firm “people’s defense posture”; and to build a clean and strong Party organization. He also emphasized the need for all units of the Dong Nai armed forces to become exemplary, comprehensively strong formations, with officers and soldiers ready to successfully fulfill their missions in the new context.

Colonel Vo Thanh Danh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Commander of the Dong Nai Provincial Military Command, expressed deep gratitude to General Nguyen Trong Nghia and the delegation for their attention, encouragement, and visit to the unit.
Colonel Vo Thanh Danh affirmed that in all circumstances, officers and soldiers of the Dong Nai armed forces would remain united, overcome difficulties, stay absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people; uphold the noble qualities of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers,” the “Determined-to-fight and determined-to-win” tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army, and the 16 golden words of Dong Nai’s armed forces: “Loyal and devoted, brave and steadfast, proactive and creative, united, determined to win”. He reaffirmed their determination to take the lead in all missions, constantly improve overall quality and combat strength, and successfully accomplish all assigned tasks.
