Currently, communes and wards across Dong Nai province are organizing the first congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) at the grassroots level for the 2025–2030 tenure. Throughout this process, side activities at all congresses have focused on caring for and supporting the poor and the disadvantaged.
This has contributed to creating a unique and meaningful highlight during the VFF Congresses across the province.
Caring for the disadvantaged on the joyful occasion of the Congresses
Before, during and after the Congresses, VFF committees in communes and wards organized activities such as presenting gifts to the disadvantaged, handing over permanent houses, and awarding scholarships to underprivileged students.

According to Chairman of Long Thanh commune VFF Committee Nguyen Tan Hung, during the organization of the commune Congress, the unit mobilized contributions from organizations and individuals to support disadvantaged people. As a result, on the day of the Congress, two social welfare projects worth VND 630 million were implemented, including gifts for disadvantaged households and contributions to the “For the Poor” Fund of Long Thanh commune. This reflected the Front’s role and its member organizations from the very first day of the new tenure. Thereby concretizing the core tasks of the Front: building great national solidarity while caring for disadvantaged people.
Most Venerable Thich Hue Nghiep, Abbot of An Phuoc pagoda and member of Long Thanh VFF Committee, noted that during the time of the Congresses, pagodas also mobilized donations to join the Fatherland Front in helping those in need. This reflects the role and responsibility of religious organizations as members of the Front in uniting under the common roof of the VFF to carry out social welfare activities.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Dak Lua commune VFF Committee Nguyen Thanh Chuyen said that in 2025, the commune VFF made the national movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, one of its signature projects to celebrate the first communal Party Congress and VFF Congress for the 2025-2030 tenure. The commune VFF helped connect resources to build 51 permanent houses. However, many households still need support for housing, medical treatment, and education. Therefore, the commune VFF will strive further to play its role as a bridge and a trusted channel for mobilizing resources to support disadvantaged people.
Nguyen Van Hieu, a resident of Dak Lua commune, shared that in September 2025, he was granted a solid house through the VFF’s resource mobilization. Additional contributions from the commune VFF and his own family increased the value of the house to VND 150 million compared to the initial budget of VND 80 million.

According to Chairman of Long Binh ward VFF Committee Nguyen Minh Hieu, on the day of the Congress, the ward VFF presented 10 bicycles to underprivileged students, supported 68 families in sudden hardship (VND 1 million per gift), and gave gifts each worth VND 500,000 to 50 young workers living in rented rooms. Given that many disadvantaged households still need assistance, he said that in the new tenure, uniting the people to carry out social welfare will remain a central mission of the ward VFF and its member organizations.

Trang Bom commune is home to nearly 99,700 people, including a large number of migrant workers renting accommodations. Among them are many disadvantaged households in need of support.
According to Chairwoman of Trang Bom commune VFF Committee Tran Thi Hong Thao, in the new tenure, the commune VFF and its member organizations will promote patriotic emulation movements, harness the strength of great national solidarity, and mobilize people’s contributions to the national campaign “Joining hands for the poor, leaving no one behind.”
Similarly, Chairwoman of Long Hung ward VFF Committee Trieu Ngoc Phuoc said the ward, with 13 neighborhoods and over 74,000 residents, still has many households in need of assistance. Therefore, in the new tenure, the ward VFF will strengthen connections with organizations, individuals, and religious institutions in order to mobilize social resources for charity and humanitarian programs.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Dong Nai VFF Committee Huynh Thi Hang commended the grassroots Congresses for making the continuation and expansion of the “self-managed, united, prosperous and happy residential area” model a key task of the new tenure.

Deputy Secretary Huynh Thi Hang also emphasized that the Fatherland Front at all levels needs to shift from direct support to creating sustainable livelihoods, providing start-up assistance, vocational training and job creation to help people escape poverty and prosper. She urged proactive mobilization and diversification of socialized resources, with transparent and effective application of technology in fundraising, while also caring for people’s spiritual lives to ensure no one is left behind. These efforts will help consolidate great national solidarity and strengthen people’s trust in the Party and government.
“The Fatherland Front at all levels must consider social welfare, caring for the poor, policy beneficiaries and vulnerable groups as important, regular and consistent tasks throughout the 2025–2030 tenure.”
Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Dong Nai VFF Committee.
