Promoting Solidarity, Building Long Thanh into a central urban area

On September 19, the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) of Long Thanh Commune, term 2025-2030, took place. Ha Anh Dung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the VFF Committee of Dong Nai Province, attended and delivered a directive speech at the event.

Long Thanh Commune has 27 hamlets with a population of over 93,000 people. The commune is home to many major national and provincial projects, including: Long Thanh International Airport, Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway, the high-speed railway, and inter-regional transport infrastructure. These projects have been creating strong momentum for Dong Nai Province’s economic transformation and development.

During the past term, the VFF of Long Thanh Commune and its member organizations effectively implemented patriotic emulation movements; promptly captured the thoughts, feelings, and aspirations of the people, contributing to strengthening the relationship between the people and the Party and the State, while promoting the strength of great national solidarity.

As a result, the VFF of the commune mobilized people to contribute over 1.3 billion VND to the nationwide movement on “Joining hands to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated houses” in 2025; raised more than 2 billion VND for the Fund for the Poor and over 1.4 billion VND to directly help disadvantaged individuals outside the Fund; and mobilized more than 3 billion VND to support northern compatriots affected by natural disasters.

At the congress, 140 delegates representing people from all walks of life in the commune elected 56 members (with 3 vacancies) to the VFF Committee of Long Thanh Commune, term 2025-2030; elected 2 delegates to attend the 1st Congress of the VFF of Dong Nai Province, term 2025-2030. The congress also adopted its resolution, identifying the key task of the VFF of the commune as promoting the strength of great national solidarity and building Long Thanh Commune into a central urban area.

At its 1st meeting, the VFF Committee of Long Thanh Commune, term 2025-2030, elected the Standing Board, the Chairperson, and Vice Chairpersons. Comrade Nguyen Tan Hung was re-elected as Chairman of the VFF Committee of Long Thanh Commune for the new term.

Delivering his directive speech at the congress, Ha Anh Dung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the VFF Committee of Dong Nai Province, commended the achievements of the commune’s VFF over the past term.

At the same time, he requested the commune’s VFF to proactively implement several key tasks, such as: ensuring unity of will and action, maintaining the role of “direct bridge” between the people and Party committees and authorities; promoting proactivity and creativity within a streamlined organizational structure; strengthening the great national solidarity bloc starting from the grassroots; enhancing the effectiveness of supervision and social criticism at the local level; applying information technology in operations, actively building the “Digital Front” model; and developing a committed, people-oriented grassroots front cadre team.

To successfully fulfill these tasks, Comrade Ha Anh Dung emphasized that the commune’s VFF must proactively propose and promptly advise the Commune Party Committee to create the most favorable conditions for its activities; work closely with the local government; and coordinate in unison with the merged political–social organizations within the joint apparatus to ensure high consensus in implementation and action.
