National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan affirmed Vietnam’s commitment to creating a favourable legal environment for Swedish investors while meeting leaders of the Ericson and Sweco Groups on April 7 in Stockholm.

She said she is pleased with developing relationship between Vietnam and Sweden in all fields, especially economy, trade and investment.

Sweden is one of the important trade partners of Vietnam in Europe, with two way trade at 1.2 billion USD, she said, stressing the need to raise Swedish investment in Vietnam from the current 93.7 million USD.

The NA Chairwoman expressed her delight at visiting the Ericson Group, which is present in 180 nations over the world, including Vietnam.

She said she hopes the group will consider the expansion of its investment in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Ngan told Sweco leaders that Vietnam is paying much attention to the strong fields of the group such as smart city design and construction and wastewater treatment.

The same day, the top Vietnamese legislator also paid a courtesy visit to Victoria Ingrid Alice Désirée, Crown Princess of Sweden.

Before concluding the official visit to Sweden, on April 8, the NA delegation arrived in Drottninggatan city to lay a wreath in commemoration of those who were killed in a truck attack in the largest pedestrian street in Stockholm one day earlier.
