(ĐN)- Dong Nai Union of Science and Technology Associations (DUSTA) on Thursday held 4th congress for the 2016-2020 tenure.
The congress was attended by Professor Pham Vu Ninh, Chairman theVietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Hoa Hiep of the provincial People’s Council and Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh of the provincial People’s Committee.

Over the past five years, DUSTA have achieved results in gathering members; served as a bridge to link Party, State organizations with intellectuals; acted as a counselor, suggested many policies related to intellectuals; promoted the dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge among the public and actively involved in scientific and technological activities as well as boosted activities considered its strength, such as consultancy, judgment and social expertise, and etc, contributing to the province’s socio-economic development.
Addressing at the event, Secretary Nguyen Phu Cuong suggested that the union would continue to do its utmost to improve the quality of professional activities and gathered outstanding scientists to take part in consultation, evaluation and supervision of many provincial projects. DUSTA would continue to promote the role, the position is a political and social organization in learning, solidarity and promoting creativity of Vietnam scientific and technological intelligentsias for the sake of the province’s socio-economic development.
The Congress elected its 43-member executive board. Mr Vy Van Vu, former Chairman of the province’s Father Front Committee was elected as Chairman of DUSTA.
