Dong Nai celebrates National Reunification Day

(ĐN)- Late on April 27, a solemn ceremony was held at Dong Nai provincial Sports Center to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 -2015).

 

(ĐN)- Late on April 27, a solemn ceremony was held at Dong Nai provincial Sports Center to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 -2015).

The ceremony saw the participation of President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, leader from Military Zone 7, Dong Nai province’s leaders, former leaders, heroic mothers, veteran revolutionists, people’s armed force heroes and heroines, etc.

In his opening speech, Secretary of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh reviewed the historical significance of Great Spring Victory 1975.

Addressing the ceremony, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan hailed achievements made by the provincial Party committee, army and people during the national anti-US resistance war as well as in the current development process.

The province is a leading locality nationwide in attracting foreign investment capital, taking care well social welfare for local people. Dong Nai also has the highest number of communes that are recognized as new rural communes, and two first districts in the country which are recognized as “new rural district”, he added.

On this occasion, Mr Nguyen Thien Nhan awarded the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” to Battalion 1, Battalion 2 of Bien Hoa U1 Commando and Battalion 303 of former Thu Bien province.
