On March 15, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and leaders from ministries and sectors attended a rehearsal in preparation for the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132) scheduled to take place in Hanoi from March 28 to April 1.
IPU-132 is the biggest diplomatic and political event that Vietnam has ever hosted.
The sub-committees have worked with the Secretariat on a score of measures to ensure security, logistics, technical facilities, accommodations, assistance for foreign delegates, food safety and hygiene, infrastructure, and personnel.
The opening ceremony is to begin by a performance of Vietnamese traditional musical instruments aiming to introduce the nation’s unique culture to delegates. Next will be the welcoming speech given by President Truong Tan Sang.
The IPU-132 event is an opportunity for Vietnam to contribute ideas to the world’s post-2015 development agenda and demonstrate its deeper and broader integration into the globe.
The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV)’s National Assembly TV Channel.
