Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong asked outgoing Cuban Ambassador Fredesman Turro Gonzalez to continue doing more for bilateral ties when saying farewell to him in Hanoi on August 12.
The General Secretary highly valued the ambassador’s contributions to the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, particularly the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of Cuba.
He expressed his hope that on any new positions, the diplomat will continue to work for the ties between the two Parties, States and peoples.
The Vietnamese leader congratulated the achievements Cuba has reaped during its socio-economic development, showing his pleasure at the two countries’ fruitful solidarity, friendship and cooperation.
The host said he expects in the coming time, cooperation mechanisms and measures with higher flexibility, practicality and efficiency will be laid out to match the two countries’ economic, trade and investment cooperation with their political relations.
For his part, Fredesman Turro Gonzalez said that the two parties’ relationship has laid a firm political foundation for the strong development of the two States and people’s relations over the past time.
He affirmed that on any positions, he will do his utmost to consolidate the special friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, where he has had a close bond with for more than 20 years.
