Dong Nai marks late President’s centennial birthday

(ĐN)- A meeting to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late President of the State Council Vo Chi Cong was held at Central Committee for South Vietnam in Dong Nai province’s Vinh Cuu district on August 7.

Attending the meeting was Standing Deputy Secretary Le Hong Phuong of the provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman Phan Thi My Thanh of People’s Committee, leaders from departments, agencies and young people.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Secretary Le Hong Phuong reviewed President Cong’s revolutionary life and his contributions to national construction during the renewal process.

Born into a patriotic family in Quang Nam in August 7, 1912, Cong led the local people to gain power in 1945. He was a loyal revolutionary and a talented leader who helped bring the war of resistance to victory.

In every position, he contributed important initiatives to the revolutionary cause and created major breakthroughs in the agricultural sector and the nation’s economic development.
