Police said the accident occurred when a bus driven by Huynh Thanh Phong, 53, of Tan Phu district, was heading to Dinh Quan district lost control and overturned on the national highway 20 near milepost 08km in Thanh Son 2 hamlet, Quang Trung commune around 10:20 a.m after hitting a motorcycle driven by Nguyen Van Men, 70, of Thong Nhat district.
The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.
All 21 injured passengers were taken to Dau Giay General Hospital in Thong Nhat district after the crash and seven of them with serious injuries were rushed to Dong Nai General Hospital later.
Leaders of Thong Nhat district has visited the injured at Dau Giay General Hospital and expressed their sympathies for the victims and presented each of them with VND500,000.
