Dong Nai celebrates 60th anniversary of Industry – Trade sector

(ĐN)- A ceremony was held on May 11 at Buu Long Tourist Area in Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province to mark 60th anniversary the Vietnamese industry-trade sector (May 14, 1951 - May 14, 2011).

(ĐN)- A ceremony was held on May 11 at Buu Long Tourist Area in Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province to mark 60th anniversary the Vietnamese industry-trade sector (May 14, 1951 - May 14, 2011). Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Nam Hai and Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee Vo Van Mot also attended the event.

The ceremony particpants have a an exchange meeting with former cadres of Dong Nai province’’s Industry – Trade sector.

Over the past 60 years, Dong Nai province’s Industry and Trade sector have made important contributions to the province’s economic restructuring transition, with a reduction in agriculture and an increase in industry and services. Particularly, the proportion of the industrial sector increased from 52.1 per cent in 2000 to 57.2 per cent in 2010 while that of service sector rose from 25.6 per cent in 2000 to 34.1 per cent in 2010. Dong Nai currently has 30 industrial parks, 12 operational industrial complexes, 10 supermarkets and trade centers and nearly 200 traditional markets to meet the increasing requirements of production and people’s daily life.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Vo Van Mot highly praised the industry and trade sector’s contributions to local economic development. He also stressed that further efforts should be made to promote production and business, encourage exports, restrict trade deficit, and ensure energy efficiency; and improve the effectiveness of trade promotion...
