(ĐN) - The Dong Nai Traditional Medicine Hospital on Thursday celebrated an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 220th anniversary of well-known physician Le Huu Trac’s death (the 15th day of the first lunar month). Since 2000, Le Huu Trac’s death anniversary day has been chosen as a traditional day of people working for the traditional medicine sector.

At the ceremony, the participants reviewed the history of herbalist Hai Thuong Lan Ong, real name Le Huu Trac, pioneer of the Vietnamese traditional medicine in the 18th century.
Also at the ceremony, leader of the hospital announced a decision from the Ministry of Health to present Hai Thuong Lan Ong Awards to two outstanding doctors including Pham Van Long, Director of the Dong Nai Traditional Medicine Hospital and Nguyen Duc Hien, Chairman of the Dong Nai Oriental Medicine Association.
In 2010, the Dong Nai Traditional Medicine Hospital provided check-ups and treatment to 31,500 local people and its capacity of sick-bed use reached 94 percent.
