Dong Nai to focus on promoting development of telecom sector following modern tendency

(ĐN)- Dong Nai province’s telecom sector recently held a meeting to review its performance in 2010 and discuss major tasks for 2011 with the attendance of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Vinh.

Dong Nai’s telecom sector reported earning whole year revenue of VND 732 billion in 2010, equalling to 107.7 percent of the year plan. The sector contributed VND 43 billion to state budget last year, fulfilling 100 percent of the year plan. Dong Nai-based VNPT added 50,206 new phone subscribers last year, or 108.2 percent of year plan. Dong Nai’s telecom sector is expected to earn revenue of over VND 1.17 trillion in 2011, a year-on-year increase of 60 percent and attract 55,500 new phone subscribers this year, an increase of 11 per cent.

Speaking at a meeting, Vice Chairman Tran Van Vinh stressed that the need to focus on promoting the development of telecom sector following modern tendency, providing more chances for local people in general and people living in remote areas in particular to access to high-tech facilities.
