(ĐN)- Dinh Quan district’s Study Promotion Association has recently organized a conference to review its activities in the past years.
Established in 2001, the association has so far developed 14 branches with total members of more than 7,700. From the start, the association’s activities received active supports from local individuals, organizations and enterprises. In 2005-2010 period, it raised nearly VND3.678 billion to honor and help local students and teachers, three times higher than the previous period.
With the donations, the association provided scholarships worth VND2.7 billion to more than 20,000 excellent students and poor students.
Part of the money was used to present bicycles and reward excellent teachers.
Until now, 9,369 families in the district have registered to become “studious families”, of which 15 families have been honored at provincial level and two at national level.
