(ĐN) - On December 22, Bien Hoa city held a conference to review five years of implementation poverty reduction work, 2006-2010 period.
The citys Poverty Reduction Steering Committee, the rate of poor households fell to 0.3% in 2010 from1.59% in 2006. Over the past five years, the city has applied necessary measures to help 876 difficult families escape poverty. Particularly, the city provided preferential loans to difficult households, offered vocational training courses and created jobs for poor people, built charity houses, reduced the tuition for poor students, etc.
