(ĐN)- The Dong Nai Provincial Department of Education and Training on Wednesday chaired a ceremony to honour 10 teachers named Meritorious Teacher on the occasion of Viet Nam Teachers’ Day (November 20). The event saw the presence of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai and Chairwoman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Lien.

At the ceremony, 10 teachers received the Meritorious Teacher title from President Nguyen Minh Triet.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai acknowledged efforts and contributions made by teachers during the past years. He also said that the education sector plays an increasingly important role in improving the people’s intellectual standards and training human resource, contributing to the training of talents for the country in general and the province in particular.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Dong Nai province held a ceremony to honour 36 outstanding young teachers to mark the Vietnam Teachers’ Day (November 20).

The event was held to honour young teachers who set examples in ethnics, professionalism and contribution to the community.
At the exchange meeting, outstanding young teachers shared experiences in improving the quality of youth union activities in schools.
