(ĐN)- A new additional outpatient clinic for people living with HIV/AIDS will be put into operation in Dong Nai province in early December, according to the provincial HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Centre. The new clinic will be located at Dong Nai Polyclinic Hospital.
Three similar clinics have been opened in Dong Nai: one located at the provincial HIV/AIDS Prevention Centre, one at Bien Hoa city’s Polyclinic Hospital and one at Long Khanh Town’s Medical center. Opened in early September 2010, two clinics in Bien Hoa city and Long Khanh town has provided voluntary counseling and care and support services to 56 people.
The clinic, funded through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the US Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), provides a comprehensive package of services, including preventive methods, volunteer counseling and medical testing, sexually transmitted disease diagnosis, anti-retroviral treatment, and home-based care to people living with HIV/AIDS in the province.
