(ĐN)- A delegation from the Health Ministry led by Luong Ngoc Khue, head of the Department for Medical Examination and Treatment Management paid a working visit to Dong Nai province on October 13.
During its stay in Dong Nai, the delegation worked with the provincial Health Department on the prevention and control of dengue fever. At the meeting, Mr. Luong Ngoc Khue said the country reported a relatively high number of dengue fever cases this year because the disease was attributed to bad and wet weather which created favourable breeding conditions for mosquitoes. He asked local health sector to intensify communication activities to raise awareness among local residents on the subject of prevention and control on dengue fever.
Until the 40th week of 2010, there were 3,193 petechial fever patients recorded with four death cases occurring in Dong Nai, according to the Provincial Preventive Medicine Centre.
