According to the report, the branch provided agriculture loans worth more than VND600 billion in 2000 and the figure is now five-fold higher, accounting for 48 percent of its total lending.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Minh Phuc praised efforts made by the branch to provide abundant credit for agricultural and rural areas, contributing to poverty reduction, improving farmers’ living standard and gradually implementing industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
He also stressed that the branch should continue its efforts to effectively implement Decree 41/2010/ND-CP on new credit policies for agricultural and rural development issued recently by the Government, help local farmers to get easy access to loans.
