Lac Hong University’s LH LED team ranks second in Robocon competition

(ĐN)- The Vietnamese Robocon team LH-LED from Lac Hong University came in the second place in the 2010 Asia-Pacific Robocon contest, held in Cairo, Egypt on September 21.

With the theme “Robo-Pharaohs Build Pyramids”, 17 teams from 16 countries and territories in the region competed to build three pyramids within three minutes. The winner is the team who finishes the task in the shortest time.

In the Group D, the Lac Hong University’s LH-LED team surpassed Japanese and Malaysian teams to take the first place. It continued to beat the Egyptian host team in the quarterfinal and the Hong Kong team in the semifinal.

China defeated the Vietnamese team in the final round to win the championship this year.

The audience witnessed a fierce competition between the two teams as they tried their best to conquer 3 pyramids in the earliest time, however China managed well to take 2 pyramids and won the champion title.

The Vietnamese team has also been honored with an award from the contest’s sponsor Panasonic.

The next Robocon competition is scheduled to be held in Thailand in 2011.
