(ĐN)- On May 21, a supervision delegation of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council led by Vice Chairman Huynh Chi Thang had a working session with the provincial Department of Construction on building social houses in the province.
According to report from the provincial Department of Construction, 40 per cent of civil servants and low income households in the province need housing. Its predicted that up to 2020, housing demand in Dong Nai will rise to 20,000 apartments.
In addition, more than 250 workers, accounting for 70 per cent of the workers in industrial zones in the province, live in rented houses. The province will need about 320 accommodation places for workers in 2015.
While Dong Nai’s housing demand is rising, two social housing projects in Bien Hoa city and Nhon Trach district have been delayed due mostly to slow legal procedures…
Addressing at the working session, Vice Chairman Huynh Chi Thang noted with concern the slow progress in the implementation of social housing projects in the province. He also urged local authorities and relevant agencies to make concerted efforts to start the construction of social houses as soon as possible for the benefit of low-income earners.
