(ĐN)- On May 18, Dong Nai province’s Farmers Association held a meeting to review ten years of implementation of Revolution No. 05-NQ/HND on building strong grassroots units and five years of implementation of Resolution No. 04-NQ/HND on enhancing the quality of the farmers’ associations at all levels. The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of Vietnam Farmers’ Association Le Hoang Minh and Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Hong Phuong.

Over the past ten years, Dong Nai provincial Farmers Association and its grassroots agencies have made reasonable efforts to help their members and other farmers improve their living standards. Particularly, the association helped farmers get easier access to credit sources from social policies and agriculture banks, while increasing agricultural promotion activities, the application of new scientific advances and new varieties of plants and animals to maximize farming productivity.
According to the report, Dong Nai Farmers’ Association now has over 208,000 members, 27,000 higher than the figure reported ten years ago.
In the coming time, the role of farmers’ association agencies would be raised and more efforts made to attract members.
