(ĐN)- The Ethnic Minority Representative Congress of Dinh Quan district in Dong Nai Province, was held last Friday, is the first local-level event of its kind in the district.
The congress gathered 174 delegates representing 50,000 people of 22 ethnic groups residing in the district.
Over the past years, the district has implemented effectively the Party and State policies for ethnic minority people through increasing investment in socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty alleviation; raising the living standards of ethnic minority people and actively promoting settled living and farming.
The congress outlined orientations and the tasks of the district from now until 2020 with focus on reducing the rate of poor households in ethnic minority areas to below 5%, helping 95 per cent of ethnic minority households to have access to the national grid…
At the congress, 45 delegates were selected to attend the provincial-level ethnic minority congress which will be held in the coming time.
