Provincial leader receives Cambodian delegation

Cambodian delegation visits Donafoods company

(ĐN)- Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai recently received a delegation from Cambodia’s trade ministry, led by Deputy Secretary of State Veng Sothy.

Mr. Veng Sothy said the visit aimed to learn from Dong Nai’s experience in growing cashew trees and processing cashew nuts for export. 

During the visit, the delegation also met with members of the Vietnam Cashew Nut Association (Vinacas) and representatives of cashew nut processing enterprises in Dong Nai at Donafoods company to discuss the possibility of exporting cashew nuts from Cambodia. At the meeting, Vinacas and cashew nut processing enterprises in the province said that they would present high-yield cashew seedlings to Cambodia and send staff to instruct cashew nut exporters there in technologies used in the process of removing the cashew kernel from the nut and preserving nuts.

As known, Donafoods Company has so far presented 40,000 high-yield cashew trees to Cambodia and sent staff to instruct farmers there in plantation technology. In addition, the company helped to establish a centre of cashew plantation area covering one hectare in Cambodia’s Krache province.
