Implementation of 2009 Population and Housing Census in Dong Nai

(ĐN)- Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Huynh Chi Thang yesterday had a working session with the provincial Steering Committee on Population and Housing Census.

Initial results indicated that the provincial coverage rate of the census enumeration was 92.54 per cent of all the households up to by the end of April 14^th, according to the provincial Steering Committee on Population and Housing Census. Especially, the census covered 100% of the households residing in Xuan Loc district.

Addressing at the working session, Vice Chairman Huynh Chi Thang stressed that the Steering Committees on Population and Housing Census at all levels need to keep a close watch on Long Khanh townlet, Bien Hoa city and districts of the province and make sure to solve difficulties arisen as well as clear away obstacles encountered during the census period.

Earlier, representatives of the Party Committee, the People’s Committee, People’s Council and Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province had held a meeting to solve problems arisen in the implementation of the 2009 Population and Housing Census. Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot requested the provincial statistics department to take enumeration of people living in areas at high risk for flooding such as on lakes, rivers and near forests for the purpose of providing assistance from the provincial government if necessary.
