(ĐN)- On the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the Viet Nam Physicians’ Day (February 27), a seminar was held at Dong Nai Hotel by Department of Health in cooperation with Dong Nai Newspaper. The seminar saw the participation of representatives from agencies, branches of the health sector.

Most facilities at district hospitals and health centres are obsolete, fail to meet the demand of residents and, as a result, cause overloading of the province’s major hospitals, according to the participants at the seminar.

In recent years, the health sector has carried out many measures to improve medical examinations and treatment quality and to reduce hospital overload. These included strengthening human resources, improving the standards of diagnosis and treatment, increasing hospital beds and developing non-State medical units.

Speaking at the seminar, Director of Department of Health Tu Thanh Chuong said that the health sector will continue to make efforts to reduce the overload on hospitals as well as improve the quality of health services for local citizens.
