In 2005, the province’s rate of poor households dropped to 0.89 percent (under the old poverty standard); disparity between rich households and poor ones, between cities and rural areas reduced. Dong Nai’s telecom infrastructure has been rapidly developing, with 21.79 telephones for every 100 people; 95% of household use electricity; the rate of household using clean water was 90%
According to the new poverty standard, the province’s rate of poor households reduced to 8.7 percent in 2006, 6.8 percent in 2007 and 4.14 percent in 2008.
In 2008, the province offered jobs for 85,000 laborers and provided vocational training to 55,300 local people. The growth of career training helped boost the rate of skilled workers to 37.5 percent.
