Dong Nai’s children tested for “Football Dream”

(ĐN)- Late last week, 92 young football talents in Dong Nai province took part in trials for the Football Dream programme launched by Qatar ’s Aspire Football Training Centre in conjunction with Khai Minh Joint-Stock Company and the Vietnam Football Federation. Accordingly, 60 players were selected for the preliminary round that will be held at Long Khanh town on August 17.

As known, qualifying rounds are being held at 70 stadiums across the country during this summer to select 50 finalists for the final round scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City in late August.

Three most outstanding players will be sent to Qatar to participate in the international final stage, which is slated for January 2009.

Football Dream is one of the world’s biggest football talent spotting events for children aged 13. Viet Nam is the only Asian country picked by the Qatar-based Aspire Academy to take part in the programme.  

Nine countries will be taking part in the re-styled Football Dreams 2008 programme: Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria, Mali, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Paraguay and Viet Nam.
