As known, Dong Nai is among the provinces with the largest poultry population in the country. The present total poultry population is estimated to be more than 5 millions, out of which, about 4 millions are bred in farms and the rest are bred at home. Although avian flu has hit many localities on a large scale during the past time, there has been no outbreak of avian influenza or bird flu in Dong Nai since March 2005.
After the working session, the delegation visited a chicken breeding farm owned by Mai Dinh Phon in Tan Hiep village, Long Thanh district of Dong Nai province.
