(ĐN)- On June 19, at the meeting hall of the provincial People’s Committee, the province’s Steering Committee for Hunger Eradication and Poverty Alleviation held a ceremony to review two years of implementation of the national target program on poverty alleviation in the 2006-2010 period.
At the ceremony, Direct of Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Thi My Phuong reported on the results of implementation of the program. Accordingly, in the past two years, more than 14,000 households have escaped poverty and 13 communes has successfully eliminated poverty. The province has set a target to reduce poor household rate to below 1% by the end of 2010.
