(ĐN)- On April 4, at the meeting hall of the provincial Party Committee, the province’s mobilization board for voluntary blood donation held a conference to review blood donation activities in 2007. Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department of the provincial Party Committee Bui Ngoc Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Huynh Thi Nga and Vice Chairman of Viet Nam Red Cross Association Pham Van Trong attended the conference.
In 2007, the province held many humanitarian blood donation campaigns and collected 8,029 units of blood, reaching 105.65 percent of the target, up 2,116 units year-on-year. Many organizations and individuals positively participated in the humanitarian movement.
In 2008, the province targets to collect 8,500 units of bloods in order to meet the demands of hospitals in the province and Cho Ray Regional Blood Transfusion and Haematology Centre in HCM city.
On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee and Red Cross Association presented certificates of merit to outstanding collectives and individuals for their contributions to this humanitarian cause.
