(ĐN)- At the working session with Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot on February 19, President of Korea-based Green Paper Corporation expressed his wish to build a paper and pulp production factory in Dong Nai. Accordingly, the factory will be built on an area of 150 hectare with an investment capital of $165 million in the first phase and more than $300 million in the second phase. It will have a capacity of 50,000 tonnes of pulp and 100,000 tonnes of paper a year, these figures are also expected to double in the second phase. To produce 50,000 tonnes of pulp, 200,000 tons of corn stover (corn plant stalks) are needed; therefore, the Green Paper will develop a 3,000 hectares farm to cultivate corn for demands.
The project is highly appreciated by Chairman Vo Van Mot, he asked the Department of Planning and Investment in coordination with related agencies and the Corporation to speed up the project’s implementation.
