(ĐN)- On October 19, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Mot had a working session with Xuan Loc district’s Party Committee on the implementation of rural and agricultural development in the district.
According to reports from the district’s leaders, during the past time, Xuan Loc have made many efforts to change the appropriate crop and plant structure, apply advanced technical science in agricultural production, build irrigational works. Accordingly, the district’s agriculture sector has grown rapidly. In 2006, Xuan Loc’s agricultural GDP reached VND664.9 billion and is estimated at VND713.1 billion in 2007, up 7.2 percent compared to 2006. The district’s export turnover of agricultural products reached $5.5 million in 2006 and the figure were 11.6 million in the first nine months.
Speaking at the working session, Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh highly appreciated the efforts made by the district in the past time and hoped that Xuan Loc will continue to strive to achieve the objectives of agricultural development and food security in coming time.
In the same day, Secretary Tran Dinh Thanh and Chairman Vo Van Mot visited club of high productivity in Xuan Phu commune, Suoi Lon Mango Cooperative, Nam Du Cow Farm in Xuan Hung commune. During the visits, the province’s leaders listened the farmers’ opinions about their advantages as well as difficulties in the last time. The leaders pledged to make further supports to the farmers in the next time.
