Dong Nai calls on local people to raise fund for dioxin victims

(ĐN)- At a press conference on July 17, Chairman of Dong Nai province’s Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims’ Association Vo Minh Quang called on local people to raise fund for Dong Nai dioxin victims.

(ĐN)- At a press conference on July 17, Chairman of Dong Nai province’s Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims’ Association Vo Minh Quang called on local people to raise fund for Dong Nai dioxin victims.

 

According to statistics, Dong Nai presently has 13,147 AO/dioxin victims; 62 percent of them are common people who live in areas where the US army sprayed toxic chemicals during the war.

 

In the past time, the State and entire society have made many efforts to help the families of the victims to overcome difficult.

 

On the occasion of "Day for Agent Orange Victims", August 10, the provincial People’s Committee called on donations from organizations, enterprises and individuals to raise the Dioxin Victims Sponsorship Fund. At the same time, the Association will plans to build 8 charity houses for especially difficult families, present gifts to AO/dioxin victims’ families, and provide free medical  check-ups to the dioxin victims in the province.
