Bien Hoa city’s Elderly Association reviews its activities in last six month

Bien Hoa city Elderly Associations cadres are awarded campaign medals at the conference

(ĐN)- Recently, Bien Hoa city’s Elderly Association held a conference to review its activities during the first six months of 2007.

Bien Hoa city has 26 wards and communes, with a population of 600,000 people including 38,000 elderly people. Of them, 25,700 people are members of the elderly association.

During the past six months, the elderly associations at all levels in the city held many practical activities and made significant contributions to the city’s development. According, the associations mobilized donations from local organizations and individuals to build two charity houses for poor households, supported capital and helped the members stabilize and improve their life, established clubs of badminton, table tennis, Chinese chess, poetry, etc to create healthy and useful playground for the elderly people.

At the conference, the representative of the provincial Elderly Association awarded campaign medals “For the cause of the Elderly” to 8 cadres who have made remarkable contributions to the city’s Elderly Association in the past time.
