Retail petrol prices go up

The retail price of petrol products in Viet Nam has increased by 800 VND (roughly 0.05 USD) per litre.

From 0:00am on May 7, the price of RON92 petrol was raised to 11,800 VND per litre, while that of RON 95 petrol was put up to 12,100 VND per litre.

 

This is the first petrol price hike since the government issued on April 6 a decree permitting local companies to freely set retail prices based on market forces.

 

Recently, petrol was sold at 84 USD per barrel in Singapore, which has the source of petrol for many Vietnamese retailers.
